My white Christmas !

Hello my Gorgeous readers!

I just want to say Happy Holidays and hope everyone enjoyed their holiday vacation with great food, top shelf drinks , a killer outfit and most important with your loved ones! Since I gave up hoping for a "white Christmas" in Miami, I figured I could make my own white christmas via fashion! I decided to go with a feminine and delicate look with selected bolds for the right balance of whimsical and Chic . These fitted High waisted skirts with detailed lining come in all colors at Forever 21 for $8.50! Found the lace knit top and lace stockings there too! I've been inspired by Chanel, Alice in Wonderland, and Oscar De La Renta's SS collection simply for the strong embrace of femininity this season! My closet has a lot of off whites as of late so I got these cut-out peep-toe eggshell-white suede heels at Bloomingdales for the perfect look every time!

Miami Art Basel

On the last day on one of the most famous international art events held worldwide, I was finally able to attend Miami Art Basel this past weekend. Sister of the Basel held in switzerland in June, Miami hosts more than 100 exhibits and thousands of art work is exhibited all week long. Young artists, performers and Masters of Art come from around the world and display their exhibits. Art collectors also come with a check book and ready to buy pieces worth thousands of dollars. From contemporary, to conceptual to video art was exhibited, covering Wynwood district, Design district, Collins Avenue, Brickell, Midtown, and FIU's Wolfsonian (Art Museum) along with many other sectors of miami. If you're a smart miamian and planning to attend all exhibits, you probably parked your car and took the public transit to and from which was free the whole week. Two hours and several road confrontations later, we had finally made it to Miami Convention Center and the first thing we did was stuff our faces with sushi and white-chocalate dipped pretzel. Then, it was like a warp. As soon as we crossed the gate, you were in a different world. Pieces that reached as high as the ceiling, pieces in motion and video art along with bright colors and textures. Also, nothing like coming across different styles of the people that come to Miami. Enjoy my very own collection of my favorite pieces that inspired me! ^_^

Fashions Night Out Miami 2011

Aventura Mall
Miami welcomed a new year of fashion by participating in the 3rd annual Fashion's Night Out on Thursday night by opening it's top shops to our fashion fiends. All over the world, beautifully adorned people came virtually together to celebrate our passion for fashion and our terrible need of expressing it over cocktails and retail sales. Over 75 retailers participated in this one night of complete indulgence and celebration of decades of great fashion. Me and my girlfriend, Yoshi, rated Miami's Aventura Mall as we scouted for complimentary champagne and of course, cookies! I was in a daze as the DJ spun to a Pitbull club mix in Neiman Marcus while we walked through the shoe department analyzing, critiquing and admiring stilettos like an art gallery. I tried Oh S0 HaRd not to touch them with my frost-smudged fingers from stuffing my face with bite-sized cupcakes. Seriously, whoever thought of distributing sweets to a bunch of fashion fiends ready to spurge is a genius.  Every store had their own complimentary goodies and welcomed all the fashionistas as they raided through sales. Later that night after practically overdosing on cupcakes, we showed face at the Bal Harbour shops. We figured we we'd pay tribute to the night as much as we could ^_^ . The Bal Harbour crowd was a little more high-end and photographers were scoping out any high-profile attendees. Of course, by the last half of the night, gentlemen had loosened up their silk skinny ties and ladies had an extra lean to their catwalk (alchies!). Nevertheless, it was a successful night for us.

Fashion Beats

I know I'm not the only one when I confess to head banging in the morning as I raid my closet and completely demolish my vanity department. This is a great way to release creative energy and let the dynamism of music inspire your look. Keeping a well-rounded genre of music in your itunes or MP3 helps diversify your style. From acoustic indie-rock inspiring delicate button-ups with faded jeans, to bubbly pop inspiring shimmer-embellished tunics and short skirts, great tunes can lead to great fashion! Today, I was feeling a bit edgy and powerful while I was jamming to  Kid Cudi’s rubbish rock track, "No one believes me" from his long anticipated rock album, Wizard (not released yet).  This dark rock beat gives you a sense of musical “high” with a nightmarish ambiance. This beat alone, inspired the melancholic color-combo of Grey’s, Brown’s, and forest Green’s and of course, combat boots!

high-waisted shorts - Urban Outfitters
Paris V-neck - Express

Enjoy this Head Banger by Cudi !

Kim's "Shoe Dazzle" for recessionistas!

Hello my gorgeous people!

Finally, beautiful finds for an oh-so beautiful price. Kim Kardashian teamed up with high-profile stylists to contribute their fabulous tastes and style guides to create a website called, Shoe Dazzle  ! It filters your personal style for an unbeatable price. The website insures that all items (chic pumps, wedges, sandals, booties, sneakers, bags, accessories) are all under $39.95 if you purchase at least once a month. I checked it out and answered a series of questions that has to do with my personal style and it created a "showroom" for me. Because the prices are pretty attractive on highly sought-after items, they tend to get sold out quickly but every Tuesday and Thursday they have new arrivals =) This is a great way for college girls who are fashion conscious to snag a few fab finds without braking the bank. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Betsey Johnson's meet & greet

Hello my gorgeous people!

A few weeks ago, i stood in line for 2 hours so I can meet the beautiful and eccentric, Betsey Johnson at her "Meet & Greet" here in South Florida. Luckily, my editor from Joonbug told me about it and I rushed over there. Even though being surrounded by too many girls made me almost plot my own death, it was all worth it. Draped in her latest nautical romantic collections, her lovely assistants catered the guests with heart shaped cookies and irresistible sweets. After waiting in line with my mother who later grew impatient and decided to visit BCBG right next door, I was finally in the store. Colorful balloons filled the ceiling and the latest of katy Perry and Deadmau5 blew from the DJ's speakers. Two girls dressed in nothing but nautical swimwear showcased their artfully inked bodies and welcomed me in. Betsey was a doll and answered all my questions with enthusiasm. Maybe asking her to do a cartwheel for me was too much so I refrained from asking the favor and took a picture with her.

Lady Gaga on Vogue's March Issue

Hello my gorgeous people!

Has anyone got their hands on the Vogue March issue yet? I know it's pretty early but I couldn't help but comment on the amazing spreads. With a cotton-candy colored bob, Gaga is draped in some of the most chic and bold and sophisticated names on the runway. I think I might just make a collage of this issue for all the amazing spreads. Lady Gaga sheds a little more light on her past and the story behind her cult that she refers to as "little monsters". As much as lady Gaga freaks me out sometimes, she sets herself apart by using her persona, fashion statements and music to send a message. She is good at what she does and Vogue couldn't have picked a more appropriate figure for their issue. This is a must-pickup on the way home!

The Man with the Tie

Hello my Gorgeous people!

I thought it would be convenient to share these great items for our male audience and for our females who struggle when dealing with a boyfriend who can't seem to put together a well-dressed outfit if his life depended on it. I chose these picks because comfort, simplicity, practicability, and presentability are important factors when a man is getting dressed.
Remember, you don't want to be OVER-dressed. You want to be WELL-dressed.
With Love,
Nikki

Let's get into the FLOW of spring!

Hello my gorgeous people..

Elle UK February 2011
I fell utterly in love with this Elle UK Febuary 2011 cover. This full body shot of edgy and darling super model, Chanel Iman in springy hot pink full-length skirt matched with a not-so-feminine basic white scoop neck tee widened my eye. This balance of comfortable and feminine and colorful class could be the first thing I embrace when its time to pack up the jackets and boots. Oh, the colors and flowing of spring is just right outside that window. Ladies, please embrace those colorful sheer tops , full-length skirts and cruisy flats. Balance and concepts are beyond trending so experiment and add fashionable story-telling skills to your personal couture ensemble.
