Hamptons, French Toast and a Beautiful Horse

Hello Luvies,

So for Memorial Day Weekend my friend Lin invited me to go to the hamptons with her, it was a beautiful day out, thank god it did not rain and we had a great time, a lil tanner :p Now we didn't take much pics as we were enjoying ourselves most of the time but the few (4) pics we took are below

Isn't it lovely?

My weekend then consisted of an amazingly HUGE french toast which I can without a doubt say was DELICIOUS! =D I had brunch with a couple of my friends at Norma's in Le Parker Meridien Hotel and let me tell you, you haven't had a proper brunch till you've had it at Norma's. This place has amazing food and all of their dishes look amazing, I was contemplating between the Nutella Flapjacks or the Crunchy French Toast and after asking the waiter's opinion I'm glad I went with the Crunchy French Toast, it was so good with what seemed like rice krispies to make it crunchy and a caramel sauce which tasted just like maple syrup aaah it was soo good! I'm actually salivating right now while typing this :p I mean just take a look for yourself..

My weekend ended with a carriage ride around central park from a beautiful horse which I got to feed and take cute pics with :)

Prada, Schiaparelli and Central Park

Hello Luvies,

Another day of exploring the big apple, this time it was to The Metropolitan Museum of Art where the Schiaparelli and Prada exhibit was being showcased. A little blurb from the calendar I bought

"Although separated by time, Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada - both Italian, both feminists - share striking affinities in terms of their design strategies. Schiaparelli, from the 1920's through 50's, and Prada, from the late 1980's to today, have exploited the narrative possibilities of prints, sought out unconventional textiles, played with ideas of good and bad taste, and manipulated scale for surrealistic outcomes. Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations compares and contrasts the designers to explore the extraordinary impact of their aesthetics and sensibilities on contemporary notions of fashionability."

And now to take you into this amazing exhibit, first pictures weren't allowed to be taken therefore my words shall take you into this exhibit.. are you ready? Here we go (ok i definitely found pictures on google after typing this so I'm adding the pics =D)

As you walk into the exhibit the first thing you see is a large screen playing a conversation between Schiaparelli and Prada, they are both seated on opposite sides of a large dining table with what seems to be a glass of wine in their hand (now Schiaparelli is obviously not alive so an actress is playing her in the video)

As you continue to walk in you notice dresses and another screen with another conversation,

then come the shoes and hats, ah how I wished I could just snap a few to post for you guys but let me tell you, each Schiaparelli hat was paired with a Prada shoe, it was interesting to see the mix.

There then was a Schiaparelli wedding veil and it was gorgeous made out of sparkling blue glass.

Next come more Prada and Schiaparelli pieces

and the end of the exhibit was different pieces from each designer with a mounted screen with a picture of a model wearing the piece and if you stared at the picture for a while you will notice that her eyes blink or her dress moved, it was a cool thing to see.

The pieces were different pieces from each designer such as Schiaparelli's famous lobster dress which Dali painted

and then my souvenir from this exhibit, a lovely 2013 calendar which I have to patiently wait 6 months to open.. yes I'm the girl who doesn't turn her calendar to see the next month's pic till the next month, don't judge me :p

After the exhibit me and my friends were going to an art gallery.. and then it started to rain so we thought oh why don't we walk across Central Park to get to the west side (where the art gallery was located) and thus these pictures came about

I like to think this pic is Audrey Hepburn-ish =D

Hope you enjoyed another day of my NYC explorations and you didn't even have to ask yes there will be more posts ;)

Out of Hibernation

Hello Luvies,

Now that Spring semester is over and summer is finally here I guess I can come out of hibernation and blog again :) No but seriously my life was hectic, stressful, some sleep that turned into no sleep then finals, finals, FINALS and then I was done lol. Crazy roller coaster ride but I'm glad to say that I survived my first semester of Fashion School wohooo! If that doesn't call for a celebration then I don't know what does lol

So to celebrate I jumped on the "Let's Explore NYC" bus and started to explore this amazing city. Ok there isn't such a bus, I just made it up, but you get the picture. I started first exploring my new neighborhood yup you read that right I moved to a quieter, cleaner area of the city and below are my explorations

Sea Port
Brooklyn Bridge

China Town

Dinkies! = Yummy pancake cake things with different delicious toppings, If you happen to be in NYC and in Canal Street you must give it a try!

This was just Day 1 of exploring, stay tuned for my other exploration posts :)
