Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2011 & Costume Illustrations

Watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and all I can say is one word FABULOUS! I swear the VS show amazes me every year, from the models, to the costumes, to the runway, to the artists. Everything about this show is just so Amazing :) I enjoyed every bit of it, can you believe Alessandra has been doing the show for 11 years! Her first show was in 2000. And Miranda Kerr who just had her baby looks absolutely stunning! She is 28 years-old and her son is not even a year old yet, he's 10 months. These women are truly hard working women. It takes a lot of work to be a Victoria's Secret Model, the amount of work and pressure they put on they're bodies to look flawless is just inspiring.

However I do have to say one thing, Girls you cannot look at these women and think I want my body to look like that, it is almost impossible to have that. These women, it's their job to workout and be fit for this show, a girl with a normal life, going to school or work can never keep up with the amount of workout a model does. Unless you stay at home, have a personal trainer for lets say 6 months then I guess you can say it's do-able. I'm just stating the facts and want you to see that that type of fit is unreal in our world. Now I'm not discouraging you from working out either, you can still workout and have a fabulous body, just make sure you keep in mind that model fit is not what you might get. I think being determined will give you what you want. Even if you're working or going to school or whatever it may be, if you are determined to workout everyday then it is possible and do-able and you will achieve results, believe me I have tried it and am not disappointed. I think this applies to everything else in life and not just working out, an individual that is hard-working and determined to succeed, will not stop till they do and they will get what they want.

I went on a bit of a ramble there didn't I? lol I know I just kinda contradicted myself there hehe but I have many thoughts and am trying to put them all out there :p Moving along here are some of my fav moments from the show including illustrations of the costumes, there were too many as I have already mentioned how fabulous this show was, I really tried to condense my choices, you can see the rest of the outfits by watching the show, I have posted the video below. I also think I have decided that Miranda Kerr is my favorite Angel :) Although I also like Behati and Candice, I guess I just named my Top 3!

DVF comes to south beach!

Hello my gorgeous people! 
      To continue our admiration of Diane Von Furstenberg's summer/spring collection 2012, I want to share her live fashion show at Bal Harbour's Saks in South Beach while she was visiting earlier this month. Beautiful models strided and posed through the colorfully decorated store while the crowd mingled and enjoyed drinks and appetizers. While she sat in the center of the platform, she shared a few words with her fans about her journey as a fashion designer and what it really took for her to be the woman she is today. I was fortunate enough to say a few words to her after shoving my way through large purses and tip toeing through stiletto pumps. DVF SS2012 collection is youthful and modern with vintage inspiration from a mixture of decades of great fashion!

NYFW- The Academy of Art Fashion Show

After a day of exploring the city we needed to head back to the hotel to glam n dress up for the fashion show. It was hard picking an outfit to wear since the weather was freezing cold, pantyhose and boots were a must! After dressing up and putting our coats on we headed out and into the Lincoln Center. As you walk in you see the most fashionable people all in one room. We checked our coats in and wandered around till the show started, the room was filled with different sponsors with goodies for the guests; Starbucks, Maybelline, TRESemmé, Fiji Water were among the few that were present. Each station offered something different. Starbucks was giving out free Frappuccinos, Maybelline was giving makeovers, and TRESemmé was doing hair. It was then time for the show to start! We quickly took our seats and noticed a little crowd on the runway, Miss Jay and Nigel Barker were being interviewed as fans were surrounding them to take pics. I quickly got up and joined them and you can see the pics below! 

What i didn't notice is that Marc Jacobs was also present at the show, I can't believe I didn't notice he was there at all! I only noticed as I was looking through my pictures to prepare this post for you that as I was taking a picture of a model strutting down the runway that there he was in the background, sitting front row! aaah I still can't believe i missed him, I soo would've taken a pic with him.

Anywho the show was amazing, and consisted of collections by 7 different graduates, each had their own unique style to portray. Among my favorites were Minha Yoon, Stephanie Gelot, Hurst Chang-Wei Lin, Jonathan David Baker, and Aura Taylor. You'll find pics from some of the designers below.

After the show concluded we wandered around some more and got to contribute our own personal video message to the Fashion World Live project, it's a project worldwide where they video guests around the world during Fashion Week and allow them to give a personal message, the video is then played live on a big screen during Fashion Week around the world. How cool is that? We also got to see Rebecca Minkoff's Fall 2011 Collection of Handbags before it's out!
